LEGEND of PRICE LIST

This price list is divided into six distinct general categories <Letter Code 9> of products:
Letter codes define the "what," "where," and "form" of the products and services. Number codes define the "format" available. Letter codes used are generally the same abbreviations used in naming computer files.

1. Existing Hardcopy Study [H] (no longer available) products were 1:2,000,000 scale maps in a colored transparent mylar form (10½'x6½') and texts (on 8½"x11" paper). The political map was an exception: it was printed on an opaque mylar, since it was meant to underlay the transparent maps. Maps generally had corresponding texts and vice–versa, with the exception of the Ancillary Maps (which had no corresponding texts) and the Analysis Text (which had no corresponding map). The Ancillary Maps varied in dimension and scale. Each of the transparent mylars was individually colored in a single color: for examples, the Hydrology mylar map had blue ink; the Basin mylar map had purple ink; etc. Every new hardcopy map edition had been reproduced on a vacuum–frame using stable mylar: this contact–process, while much more expensive, practically eliminated reproduction distortions of all types {e.g., photogrammetric}. The advantages of the Hardcopy Maps & Texts included bilinguality, immediate availability, quality of map reproduction and utility for display on Boardroom walls.

2. Applications Hardcopy Study [A] (no longer available) products of digital maps were provided at various scales, generally on paper media ~3'x5' in dimension, etc., as described previously herein.

3–4. Digital Study [D] products consist of digitized vector maps and texts in a variety of computer languages and use several mostly Windows–based programs. Digital Raster maps [R] are available. The products are designed to be usable primarily within Microsoft Windows© operating systems; however, they can usually be adapted to run also on other operating systems. Digital maps are manipulable on any system which can run the specified software, etc.

5. Special [S] is self–explanatory, in contexts used.

6. Upgrade [U] of digital products are available under the separate "Maintenance Upgrade" contract. Purchasers receive one year of free upgrades of the products purchased.

In the price list, digital products are assumed to be for AutoCAD® R13 (*.DWG) format; to order ESRI® (*.DXF) format instead, change the number code from 200 to 300. Other formats are as specified. For Applications Hardcopy products, for example, the number code was 700. If the number code varies in 2mn (e.g., 210), it means two (or more) options in category: if the number code varies in 2mn from 200 (e.g, 201), it means that only the particular theme is provided.
